Last night

i was singing our National Anthem.

Singing it like my own lullaby.

I repeated and repeated,

struggled to get the thorny words out of my mouth.

As the words went through,

i separated each sentence

defining every verse into my own words.

But it came to the point where I had to stop

because I sang it so much

that I began to forget the lyrics.

So that night

i got back onto the computer

and made sure that i got down on each and every word

with no doubt

before i went back to bed
